I’ve always wondered what sort of photography careers you could have yourself in the military.
By the look of some of these revealing images, it seems like a photography career in the military would be a pretty exciting job. Although rather quite challenging at times. Depending of course where you are, and what you’re photographing…

In this absolutely exceptional, compelling photograph, U.S. Air Force Academy graduates throw their hats in the air as the Thunderbirds fly overhead signaling the end of the Air Force Academy graduation ceremony, (Colorado Springs, Colo., May 30, 2007).
A masterful image by Cherie A. Thurlby.

In this image (above) U.S. Air Force pararescuemen from the 48th and 58th Rescue Squadrons prepare to load a mock patient into an HH-60 Pave Hawk helicopter during a mass casualty exercise in the Huachuca Mountains in Sierra Vista, Arizona. (July 27, 2006).

Sometimes I have pondered what it would be like living the life of a photo journalist who is embedded into military units in hot spots around the world…

Such as photographer (Tim Hetherington) does (above)…
Make sure you go read Tim’s article about US soldiers in Afghanistan. It’s an amazing read…
The images are honest and very powerful.
