Feedback
This section is just for feedback. Any questions to do with selling photos online, the digital photography business, or stock photography (etc) are welcome guests here.
I encourage you to go for your life. Ask me anything you want. You’ll find I’ll usually shape and flex my answers around the ‘marketing’ side of photography. And then slam a few furious fast ideas into the mix too.
Without any further ado, let’s GO.

(Sat, May 17, 2008) “I enjoy the useful ezine letters, they are full of good stuff. But you were right about your YouTube piece, you talked too much about the camera. I am trying to get serious about photography and make a living from it. I have photos on shutterpoint.com and at www.kevinhayden.book.fr
If you ever have a spare second I would appreciate it if you gave me some feedback on where I could improve. Keep up the good work, the world needs more people like you!” -Kevin.
My answer:
Hi Kevin,
Your photos are wonderful. Great eye. Especially the couple on the bus and the smiling girl, beautiful stuff.
I too have traveled to Burma (Myanmar) and it’s an amazing country.
How to improve? OK that’s a good question. We’re always improving.
Maybe just ask yourself what you want to achieve or do with your images…
Have a goal in mind. After all, there’s so many options. You can go stock with microstock, or to Alamy.com for higher priced stock photo sales.
You could sell CDs or DVDs on eBay, put your images on tshirts in CafePress.
There’s literally thousands of ways forward. What do you want to achieve with your images? What’s your end goal? Maybe try to work backwards from that…
FOR example, you might have a goal like this…. I have 1000 stock photos with iStockPhoto by October 2008. A goal like that would be superb… And achievable if you focused on it.
You could create a simple ebook or ephoto book too, or ephoto downloads or screensavers. Depends on… what you want to do. Have a think over your goals and let me know…
Thanks for the compliments, go for it.
Martin
